How To Attack Trump In The Debate And Throughout The Campaign

Submitted by Robin Messing on Sun, 06/23/2024 - 9:03am

There are at least three lines of attack against Donald Trump that have flown under the radar that could devastate him during the campaign.

  1. Trump can be easily blackmailed, and our enemies will use that against our national interests.
  2. We are far more likely to have an intelligence failure because we will be flying blind in a dangerous world. Expect a 9/11 type disaster or bigger under Trump.
  3. Trump has a long history of crying "RIGGED" when things don't go his way. Of course, he claims the 2020 election and his New York trial were rigged against him. And he is prepping his followers to believe the 2024 election will be rigged against him. But these incidents are part of a historical pattern that most people don't know about. (He has even claimed that the FBI’s crime statistics have been rigged because they show crime has been going down recently, and that does not fit his narrative of America becoming a crime infested hellhole under President Biden.)

I will start by addressing some steps for President Biden's Communications team to take before the debate to ensure that Donald Trump will not be able to gaslight voters into believing that he never said things that he did in fact say or write. President Biden and his debate prep team can skip this section and start reading my discussion about how easy it would be for hostile foreign countries to blackmail Trump. I will be writing the rest of this column as if I were speaking directly to President Biden. Whenever I say "you" or "your", assume I am referring to President Biden. I know it's a LOOOOONG shot, but I hope he or someone on his debate prep team, will get to see this before the debate. If not, this column still contains ideas they can use even after the debate.

Preparation Before The Debate--For President Biden's Communications Team

Plan on President Biden referring to a number of Donald Trump's tweets and posts to Truth Social throughout the debate that will be very damning to Trump. It is possible that Trump  could have one of his assistants watching the debate with orders to delete any incriminating or embarrassing posts within seconds of Biden's mentioning them. Expect Trump to gaslight everyone by denying the posts ever existed and expect him to call Biden's accusations based on those posts "Fake News."  Fortunately, there is an archive of all Trump's tweets, including his deleted tweets, up until January 8, 2021. However, proving that Trump posted a particular "truth" on Truth Social after he has deleted it will be more difficult. Therefore, I recommend taking the following steps for any post that President Biden might want to mention during the debate or use during the campaign.

1) Set up a new website and call it something like ArchivedTrumpPosts.Com and use it to post snapshots of posts that Trump might want to delete. Post the URL of each snapshot right above the snapshot like this:

https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/111393315342651569

It would be a good idea to keep a separate database where you can store the snapshots and their associated URLs, just in case something were to happen to the website.

2) Ask President Biden to make a video of himself sitting at your computer. He should start the video off by saying something like, "Hi, I'm Joe. I want to share some interesting tweets and posts with you by Donald Trump. I'm recording them in this video just in case these posts suddenly disappear. I don't want our friend to be able to gaslight you by deleting them and claiming they never existed." Then President Biden should record himself going to each post he wants voters to see. Make sure he stays on each post long enough for the viewer to read it before proceeding to the next one. Do not post the video on the ArchivedTrumpPosts.Com--yet. Keep it in reserve to post to the website later if Trump starts deleting his tweets or his Truth Social posts. Post the to the website if Trump starts deleting posts, and have the campaign make a big stink over Trump's deleting his posts in order to hide information from the voters--just like he hid his affair with Stormy Daniels in 2016.

3) Publicize the hell out of the ArchivedTrumpPosts.Com at a time of your choosing. I would suggest keeping the site private if possible until you are ready to publicize it. There is no point in letting Team Trump know you've put together this website until you are ready to publicize it. I suggest publicizing it after the first debate if President Biden has a chance to mention any of Trump's posts during the debate.

Trump Can Be Easily Blackmailed

Trump said he never had an affair with Stormy Daniels and that she had extorted him for the $130,000. President Biden, you should turn to Trump during the debate and say,

You said that Stormy Daniels blackmailed you and that you never had an affair with her. Now, I don't believe you, but for argument’s sake let’s assume that you are telling us the truth. Let’s think through the implications of what that would mean.

We KNOW that you reimbursed Michael Cohen’s payoff of Stormy Daniels, and we know this not just because the jury found you guilty. We KNOW that you reimbursed Cohen because Rudy Giuliani went on Fox News and TOLD us you reimbursed him.

But more importantly, your lawyer submitted a document that was also signed by Michael Cohen’s lawyer to a court saying that you reimbursed Cohen for the money he paid Stormy Daniels. (See especially page 12.) So either you reimbursed Cohen for paying off Daniels or you made your lawyers submit a false filing to a court under oath.

So what does this mean? This is an important point almost EVERYONE is missing, so listen up--You have practically declared that you can be easily blackmailed. And if you paid blackmail money to cover up an affair that never happened, then you are so weak that others can successfully blackmail you over things that never happened as well.

And thus, your weakness, your cowardice, and your lack of discipline and internal fortitude, make you very blackmailable. You will be America's weakest link. And America's enemies will be able to use your weakness to lead you--and America--around by the nose. That is the exact opposite of putting America First. We do not Make America Great Again by turning it into the doormat of the world.

Mr. President, you WILL be criticized for tipping off our enemies about how blackmailable Trump is if you bring this up in a debate. There are two ways you can respond to this criticism. You can either say, “I know a lot of people try to portray me as a senile old man. Well, if I can figure this out, you can bet that intelligence analysts in Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea have figured this out as well.”

Alternatively, you can mention that you are aware of at least two other people who have independently figured this out. There is me (though there is no need to mention me by name), and there is  Matthew Yglesias who recognized Trump's weakness and wrote about it for Vox six year ago  I would be shocked if we were the only two people who have thought of this.

And if at least two Americans with no super-duper spy agency or team of analysts to back them up can figure this out, then intelligence analysts in Russia and China and Iran and North Korea have figured this out as well. You can bet Putin and Xi Jinping are licking their chops at the thought of getting Trump elected. Trump has given them every reason to believe that all they have to do is create realistic-looking AI videos of him watching golden showers or having sex with barnyard animals and underage children in order to get him to do whatever they want him to do in order to prevent them from releasing the video to the internet. Electing Trump would be the equivalent of giving our enemies our most sensitive national security secrets or giving them the power to prevent us from helping our allies should they attack them.

I want to stress again that I am not saying that Stormy Daniels blackmailed my opponent. That is what HE is claiming. But the conclusion that he is susceptible to blackmail is inevitable if we take him at his word, and that is a risk we cannot afford to take.

We Are Far More Likely To Have A National Disaster Due To A Major Intelligence Failure Under Trump

What happened to us on 9/11 and what happened to the Israelis on October 7 demonstrate what can happen when there is a major intelligence failure. No one can guarantee that we won’t have a similar failure in the future. All we can do is work hard, work smart, stay alert, and make sure our analysts have access to the best information available. If we do this, then we will reduce the odds of overlooking something really big as much as possible. But the odds of missing something REALLY big will go up dramatically under Donald Trump for several reasons.

America exists in a dangerous world. We need as many eyes and ears as possible around the world to pick up clues for our intelligence agencies to analyze. We have the best satellite surveillance technology in the world, but that is not enough. We need people on the ground to get close to foreign leaders to learn what they are thinking. And we need allies and friends who can get THEIR agents into places that we can’t get into. The best way we can reduce the odds of being blindsided is to share intelligence with our allies, and the more intelligence we can share, the better. Putting together good intelligence assessments is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. The more pieces you can put into place, the clearer the picture will become, and no one nation holds all the pieces.

Unfortunately, we will lose access to a lot of the pieces under Trump. He gave top-secret Israeli intelligence information to the Russians at the start of his term in 2017. The Israelis were hopping mad about this for a while. And he tweeted out a previously classified photo of an Iranian rocket taken by one of our surveillance satellites. This photo gave the Iranians important clues that they could have used to identify which satellite took the photo, and this would have enabled them to track the satellite. This is valuable information that they could use to hide their activities from that satellite as it orbited over them.

But all that pales in significance to Trump’s reckless handling of hundreds of our top-secret documents and documents that were so sensitive they were classified above Top Secret. He didn’t just take them. He stored them in all sorts of unsecure places like his bathroom at Mar-a-Lago. He was asked multiple times by the National Archives to return them, and not only did he refuse to do so, he hid boxes of documents from his own lawyer and the FBI so that he could permanently keep them.

To make mates worse, after he left office, he showed a highly classified confidential document of a contingency plan for a war with Iran to people who did not have a security clearance or a need to see the document. If you bring this up, Mr. President, you will also have to make something clear to the American people that is obvious to you or anyone knowledgeable about the military or foreign relations. If you don't, then Trump is likely to say that he doesn't want to go with Iran, so we shouldn't be planning to attack Iran in the first place.

Our generals draw up a range of contingency plans to use against our adversaries should we ever find ourselves at war with them. We HAVE to have these plan for a range of options ahead of time because we do not want to be caught flat-footed and unprepared in an emergency. EVERY nation does contingency planning, and our generals would be negligent if they did not do so as well. Having military plans to use against Iran does not mean that we WANT to go to war with Iran or that we INTEND to go to war with Iran. Hopefully we will never have to go to war. But the President needs to know what options are available if we HAVE to go to war. And keeping these plans secret is a top priority for our national security. If our enemies learn our plans, they will be better able to counter them and defeat us. And tens or hundreds of thousands of Americans could die needlessly. Donald Trump needed to safeguard our contingency plans, especially our contingency plans against Iran, and he didn’t. We know this because we’ve got the audio of him showing our plans to people without security clearances.

This is bad enough, but there is another reason why we should be alarmed about Trump having access to classified documents. Trump can be easily blackmailed, as I have discussed above. Our allies are smart enough to know this.

Trump’s reckless handling of our top-secret documents combined with his blackmailablity makes him a nightmare for OUR national security. If  Russia or China or Iran find out the identity of our agents within their country, then our agents will be deported or jailed or killed. And if our adversaries find out that citizens of their country have been cooperating with our agents in any way, they will be jailed or killed. So Trump’s becoming president will directly harm our national security.

But it will damage our national security indirectly as well. All our allies who are sharing their intelligence with us are terrified about the possibility that THEIR shared intelligence will end up in the wrong hands under Trump. They NEED us to safeguard any intelligence they’ve given us so our enemies can’t figure out how they gather information or the identity of their agents and their contacts within the local population.

And so, our allies will dramatically cut back on the intelligence they share with us. They won’t risk jeopardizing THEIR national security because of Trump’s recklessness and blackmailability. Elect Trump, and we will be putting on blinders in a hostile world. Elect Trump, and we might not get that crucial piece of the puzzle from our allies that would prevent the next 9/11.

Trump Has A Long History of Crying "Rigged" When Things Don't Go His Way

Donald Trump has a long history of crying about things being rigged against him. He is now crying about the trial being rigged against him, and he is saying that the Democrats are using lawfare to rig the 2024 election against him. And of course, he called the 2020 election rigged. Most Americans know this. But 99 percent of Americans don't know that Trump has a LONG history of crying "RIGGED ELECTION." He started saying that the 2020 primary would be rigged against him in MAY 2020--nearly half a year before the election. In fact, more than two months before the election, Trump said, ". . . the only way we're going to lose the election is if the election is rigged." And Trump had no reason to believe that the only way you could win was by cheating because you were leading Trump in the polls during the entire 2020 campaign.

And of course, Trump complained before the 2016 election that Hillary Clinton would be rigging the election against him. After he beat her in the electoral college but lost by almost 2.9 million votes, he complained that he would have won the popular vote as well had there not been at least 3 million illegal votes for Clinton

And if you asked most people when the phrase “Stop the Steal” was first used, they would have no idea that it was coined during the 2016 Republican primaries. Trump accused Ted Cruz of stealing the Iowa caucus from him and demanded that the results of the caucus be nullified. Trump’s campaign also accused Cruz of being a puppet used by the party bosses to steal the Wisconsin primary. And Trump’s good friend and surrogate, Roger Stone, set up a Stopthesteal.org website where he accused the Bush-Cruz-Kasich-Romney-Ryan-McConnell factions of the Republican Party of trying to steal the nomination from him. And Stone even told Breitbart News that Ted Cruz should be put in handcuffs for election fraud.

But Trump didn’t stop at calling juries rigged and elections rigged. It seems that he will call ANYTHING that goes against him rigged. Trump is a fear monger who is trying to scare people into voting for him by telling them that crime is way up. When a reporter for Time magazine corrected him by pointing out that FBI’s statistics actually show that violent crime has gone down, Trump called the FBI’s statistics “rigged.”

I have thoroughly documented all of this in great detail here. You will find numerous posts by Trump on this page that will surprise the public and that you will want to make famous.

Here is the point you must repeat over and over and over again during the debate and the campaign: You must hammer home Trump’s history of calling ANY contest he loses to be rigged against him. He does this for two reasons. First, he is psychologically unable to admit he is a loser, and he wants to avoid admitting that he is responsible for his losses at all costs.  And so claiming the 2020 election was rigged gives him a psychological out. It provides a way for him to avoid admitting that he is responsible for his loss. It enables him to avoid admitting to himself that most people didn’t want him to be president.

But there is second reason why Trump was claiming months before the 2020 election that the election would be stolen from him. He was priming his base so that they would refuse to believe that the election was legitimate if he lost. By telling them over and over and over again before the election that the election would be stolen, he was setting them up to make to make it easy for him to convince them after the election that the election had been stolen from him.

It is very easy to back up the claim that Trump never intended to honor the result of the election if you won. Steve Bannon was caught on audio three days before the 2020 election admitting that Trump planned on stealing the election. You need to make sure that this audio is plastered all over social media the minute you mention it in the debate. You must make clear that several key states were counting mail-in votes last, and those votes were expected to heavily favor you, President Biden. That is why Team Trump wanted to stop the vote count early. They KNEW the early vote count would favor Trump, and the later vote count would favor you. This fact was so well known amongst election experts that they gave it a name: The Red Mirage. The Bannon audio provides proof that Team Trump was planning to exploit the Red Mirage to steal the election from you. And that is exactly what he tried to do.

Expose Trump For Saying The Constitution Can Be Suspended

Ask Trump what he meant when he wrote a post on Truth Social saying that if the election is stolen, it would allow "for the termination of all rules, regulations and articles, even those found in the Constitution." Ask him who gets to decide whether the election was stolen. Note that over 60 different courts rejected Trump's claim that the 2020 election was s stolen.

If Trump says it is the President who should make the determination of whether the election was stolen and should be nullified, your follow-up question should be, “So if there is a narrow election, and it looks like you’ve squeaked ahead of me, all I have to do is claim that you cheated and declare myself the winner, right? If the President can do that, then why bother having an election? I’ll just declare myself a winner."

Make sure you ask Trump what other scenarios would allow the President to suspend the Constitution, and whether it is the President who determines whether any scenario he mentions has occurred. Does he believe that the Court system can be used to challenge a president who has suspended the Constitution?

There is a chance Trump will deny he ever said that the Constitution can be terminated. Time reports:

Trump does not dismiss the possibility of political violence around the election. “If we don’t win, you know, it depends,” he tells TIME. “It always depends on the fairness of the election.” When I ask what he meant when he baselessly claimed on Truth Social that a stolen election “allows for the termination of all rules, regulations and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump responded by denying he had said it.

And yet, his post is still up on Truth Social.

Question Trump About His Attacks Against the Free Press

Trump posted a tweet in 2018 suggesting that Saturday Night Live should be sued because they mocked him. He also posted his wish on Truth Social for the government come down hard on MSNBC because he thought their critical reporting about him was "ELECTION INTERFERENCE". He claimed that the government had the right to censor or punish MSNBC because it uses FREE government airwaves. He also questioned whether CBS should be allowed to use free government airwaves because he thought they didn't grill you hard enough in their 60 Minutes interview with you. And worst of all, he accused MSNBC of committing "Country Threatening Treason" and called it and other media critical of him the ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE.

This is especially alarming since the penalty for treason is death, and the term "Enemy of the People" or a very close variation of that term was used by the French government to demonize those who opposed it during the Reign of Terror in the 1790s, by the Nazis to demonize the Jews in Germany, and by Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin to demonize anyone who disagreed with their ideology. If you were designated an "enemy of the people" there was a very good chance that you would be sent to a labor camp or killed.

Challenge Trump's Desire To Be A Dictator, And Question His Sanity By Using His "ROT IN HELL" Christmas Day post against him.

Trump famously said he wanted to be dictator on Day One--but just for a day. Ask him if he can name one person who ever stepped down from power after becoming a dictator. I know of only one--Indira Gandhi. If, by some miracle, he knows the answer to this question, then ask the follow-up question: "Can you name one person who has voluntarily given up their dictatorship who faced imprisonment if they stepped down from power?"

Make sure you mention that Trump posted a word cloud on Truth Social that showed "revenge" was by far the most prominent word, followed by "power", "economy" and "dictatorship". The word "dictator" also made it into the top ten. State that this is further proof that the main reason Trump is running for president is not because he wants to help everyday Americans, but because he wants to become a dictator so he can get revenge against anyone he perceives to be his enemy. Well, at least that was his most important reason when he posted it. But that is probably now his second most important reason. His main reason for running now is to keep his felonious ass out of jail. Feel free to suggest this be his new campaign slogan:

Trump 2024: It's the White House or the Jail House!

What To Say If You Are Asked To Say Something Nice About Trump

You may be asked to say something nice about Donald Trump. This will be especially difficult since the traditional answer of "He's a good family man" just won't cut it. So here is a snarky answer you can give, along with a serious answer that could undermine support for him among his base.

Snarky answer: Donald Trump is a man of his convictions.

Serious answer:

My opponent got off to a rocky start in handling the covid crisis. He told reporter, Bob Woodward near the start of the crisis, that covid was five times more deadly than the flu. And yet he always played down the threat of covid when speaking to the public. He said it was under control, that it would disappear by late spring or summer, and that it was no worse than the flu. And he mocked people for wearing masks to protect themselves and slow the spread of the disease. And thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, of people died needlessly because of his negligence during the early part of the crisis. In fact, one former federal prosecutor has suggested that my opponent should have been tried for  manslaughter or second-degree murder over your negligent handling of the crisis.

But let's give credit where credit is due. My opponent made the fast development of a vaccine for the disease his highest priority. He cut the red tape that others might not have cut, and this accelerated the vaccine's development by at least a couple of years. This fast development of the vaccine saved hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of lives. And so my opponent should get credit for this. Go ahead. Take a bow, Donald. You deserve it.

This answer will be truthful, sincere, and drive much of Trump's base insane. The one thing many of them HATE about Trump is the development of the covid vaccine.
