Donald Trump's Presidency has been so disastrous that the unthinkable has happened. Many Republicans and former Republicans are speaking out against Trump and endorsing Joe Biden. A few of these Republicans were even former officials in the Trump Administration. Here is a listing of some of them along with quotes and videos explaining why they are so determined to prevent Trump from gaining a second term.
Former RNC Chairmen Endorsing Biden
Racicot added that he did not expect to agree with many of Biden’s policies. But he said “the content of a man's character” was “more important than any other issue.”
He had publicly refused to vote for Trump in the 2016 election and said that he now has “even more grave doubts” about the Republican candidate
Former RNC chairman Michael Steele (Jan. 2009 – Jan. 2011) is angry at Trump’s handling of the Corona virus
Steele also says we should stop treating Trump like a legitimate president
Republican Voters Against Trump
Republican Voters Against Trump is a coalition of Republicans, former Republicans, conservatives, and former Trump voters who can’t support Trump for president this fall. Bill Kristol is probably the best known conservative among the people who run it. Here is their listing of prominent Republicans who are voting against Trump and for Joe Biden. Here are RVAT’s press releases. RVAT has over 800 videos by Republicans and former Republicans who are voting for Biden.
I’d like to point out a few of their videos by former officials in the Trump Administration.
- Elizabeth Neumann was the former Assistant Secretary for Threat Prevention in Trump's Department of Homeland Security. She voted for Trump in 2016 primarily for his pro-life position. She is no longer voting for him.
Neumann has several more videos on Youtube that may be interesting. I confess, I haven’t watched them yet. But if you find what she said interesting, here is whare you can see more of her.
- Olivia Troye was lead staff member on Vice President Pence’s Covid Task Force. She dropped a bombshell accusation against Trump in this video. She claimed that Trump thought the virus might be a good thing since he wouldn’t have to shake hands with disgusting people.
In this new ad @OliviaTroye reveals that during a COVID task force meeting, President Trump said "Maybe this COVID thing is a good thing. I don't have to shake hands with these disgusting people."

- Miles Taylor was the Chief of Staff of Homeland Security under Trump. He quit his job because he was disturbed by what he saw. Here are two videos by him.
We will see more of Taylor when we get to the Lincoln Project.
Bonus RVAT Video
Michael Hayden is a retired four-star General. He was the Director of the CIA under President George W. Bush. Please pay extra close attention to what he says at the end of this video.
I absolutely disagree with some of Biden's policies, but that's not important. What's important is the United States, and I'm supporting Joe Biden. Biden is a good man. Donald Trump is not
So far the videos that I've shown you by Republican Voters Against Trump have all been mostly against Trump. It's about time I show you a VERY prominent Republican singing the praises of Joe Biden. I present to you none other than Lindsey Graham. Sure, he is firmly in Trump's pocket now. But see what he has said about Joe Biden in the past.
The Lincoln Project
The Lincoln Project is run by another group of Republicans and former Republicans against Trump. Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt, and George Conway are the most well known members of the Lincoln Project. Read their bios and the bios of the rest of their crew here.
Here's where you can check out their many powerful ads. I'd like to highlight several of their most important ones.
Their Mourning in America ad was so powerful that it prompted three angry tweets from Donald Trump. Of course, it was made in happier times when only 60,000 Americans had died from Covid.
Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, who had been a registered Republican for decades, knows more about leadership than most. This ad by Sullenberger shreds Trump's leadership reputation more thoroughly than a goose going through a jet engine.
The following video, featuring an interview with Miles Taylor, is by far the longest and most important video of all. Nothing much happens during the first 5 minutes of the video. Lincoln Project leaders Rick Wilson, Tara Setmayer, and Steve Schmidt have an interesting discussion from 5 minutes to about 21 minutes into the video that is well worth watching. However, I'm going to start you off a little after 21 minutes into the video where their interview with Taylor begins. Here are highlights you should look for:
32:52 – 37:45: Trump supporters justify Trump's policy of tearing children away from their parents and throwing them in concentration camps by saying, "Well, Obama did it too." This is a false equivalency and Taylor explains why.
37:45: Taylor says that Trump wanted to shoot undocumented immigrants in the leg on the Southern border. He didn't just want to shoot adults. He also wanted to shoot the children.
46:45: Trump wants to get rid of judges. He wanted his aides to draft legislation to bring to Congress to get rid of judges who were ruling against him. This, of course, would be clearly unconstitutional and would destroy one of the branches of government that the Founders established to put checks and balances on the other two. In other words, if Trump got his wish he would destroy our democracy.
50:03: Taylor says the thing that made him quit was the President ordering a total stoppage of immigrants at the border in 2019. Trump's underlings balked and said, “That would be illegal. We have to let them in so we can consider their asylum cases.” The President responded by saying, Tell the judges “the bins are completely full.” He got further pushback from some assistant who said, “We can’t do it. It is illegal.” And then the President said, “If you get in trouble with the law, I’ll pardon you. Don’t worry about it.” Taylor emphasized this was not a joke.
53:34: Taylor tells the story of how we pulled out of Syria without any planning and let our allies, the Kurds, be slaughtered by the Turks.
59:37: Taylor discusses how Trump's neglecting the threat of White nationalists and other violent extremists endangers our nation.
This one is a bit of a cheat. Since Ronald Reagan is no longer with us he can't speak his mind. But his daughter, Patti Davis, has said a number of times that Reagan would not just oppose Trump, he would be horrified by Trump. And it's not hard to see why. Watch Trump's interview with Bill O'Reilly where Trump simultaneously gives Putin the green light to assassinate his enemies while simultaneously bad-mouthing the United States. Reagan was a champion for human rights in the Soviet Union and opposed their repressive regime with a steely resolve, He was also a cheerleader for the United States and would not have dreamt of claiming there was moral equivalency between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. Anyone who claims that Reagan would have supported Donald Trump might as well put on size 50 clown shoes, don a red nose, and hang a sign around their neck saying "I'm a moron."
Meidas Touch is run by three Democratic brothers. However, they used clips of Ronald Reagan to convey what Reagan would certainly be asking voters to ask themselves before casting their votes this year.
National Security Experts
489 retired Generals, Admirals, Senior Noncommissioned Officers, Ambassadors and Senior Civilian National Security Officials have written an open letter to endorse Joe Biden. While this group includes Democrats, Independents, and Republicans, it is particularly notable that Retired General Paul Selva, who served as vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under President Donald Trump was among those who signed the letter.
Even some Evangelical Leaders Support Biden
While the vast majority of Evangelicals support Trump because of his stance on abortion, there are at least a few who believe that Biden edges out Trump when it comes to pro-life issues broadly defined. The Washington Post reports
The group favoring Biden, set up by longtime evangelical leaders Ron Sider and Rich Mouw, includes several leaders who have since retired from major evangelical institutions. Among them is John Huffman, who was board chair of Christianity Today magazine, a lifelong Republican and former pastor to President Richard Nixon. He is planning to vote for a Democrat for the first time.
Huffman, who did not vote for either Trump or Clinton in 2016, decided to support Biden this time around because he said he has seen how few conservatives are willing to stand up to him.
“I’m coming as an evangelical who is pro-life and prepared to say the Republicans don’t own ‘pro-life’ and they don’t own evangelical,” Huffman said. . . .
The group for Biden also includes Jerushah Duford, the South Carolina-based granddaughter of late evangelist the Rev. Billy Graham, who said that she feels passionately about showing voters who describe themselves as “pro-life” that they can support a Democratic president.
Duford, who took in children through foster care for 10 years and adopted one of the kids she fostered, said she believes that economic policies that support mothers who want to carry a pregnancy to term help to lower the abortion rate.
“There are so many evangelicals who are one-issue voters and abortion is their issue. It is an issue that singlehandedly prevents them from voting for Biden,” she said. “I want to validate that struggle that people are having who care about pro-life issues.” . . .
The group launching Friday said Biden’s policies are more consistent with “a biblically shaped ethic of life” than Trump’s.
“Poverty, lack of accessible health care services, smoking, racism and climate change are all pro-life issues,” the leaders said in a statement. “Therefore, we oppose ‘one issue’ political thinking because it lacks biblical balance.”
Anthony Scaramucci, Michael Cohen, and Tony Schwartz
Anthony Saramucci was Donald Trump's press secretary for 11 days. However, he has known Donald Trump for years. Michael Cohen had been Trump's fixer for decades. And Tony Schwartz was Trump's ghostwriter for The Art of the Deal. They all know Trump very well and they are all warning us not to re-elect him.
Update: 10/6/2020: I just added a video by Anthony Scaramucci, Michael Cohen, and Tony Schwartz.
Update 10/7/2020: I added a video featuring Michael Hayden
